When you use dry pastels try sanding off a small amount and then adding several drops of water and a drop or two of Windex (or similar) window cleaner. This fomula enables you to paint the pastel on in layered washes and allows the pastel to flow into the seams for easy shadows. The Windex allows the water to flow across the plastic without beading up. This trick also makes the pastel more durable after it dries. I have several models that still have their original pastel detailing without any protective coating and no fingerprints. |
