They say any landing you can walk away from is a good one. In the case of these two weary vipers, landing may be the least of their worries.
As for construction, I started on Viper 1 one night, w/ Viper 2 following the next night. Before what would have been final assembly, I stuck a set of three magnets into each model, one for each engine. These magnets hold the nose and forward engine vents onto the back half of the engines. This way, if I deceide to add lights later, I have full access to the body. As for finishing, I laid down a base of spray can black followed by a silver and light white coat, This combination yields shadows int eh recesses and a metal base on the surfaces. When the top gray layers are scratched or worn down, they reveal the underlying silver and sometimes black to great effect. Two different airbushed tones of gray were laid down as final factory colors. The decals were saturated with Walthers until they fused with the very hull and were exceptionally difficult to scuff and rip up during weathering. Weathering consisted of scratching, scuffing, buffing and some silver drybrush and black airbrush.
They hang from my ceiling with a Cylon Raider and Basestar.
