Comments | Well, since i was 15 i was looking for this terrific model, or i mean, subject. When i first opened the box i realized that this model could be my best achievement in sci-fi scale modeling, but after many work hours. i'd just purchased it and i'm in the very first phase of the assembly: research. I'm very interested in your reviews, specially with Boba Fett's stuff. Thanks truly for this aid in my assembly, it's surely worth the effort!! |

Comments | Man, this kit was a killer. 41/2 weeks to complete along with accurizing, reconstructions, corrections. The paint job took a week on its own. Many thanks to these two reviews. Their kits are top notch. Anyone seeking any research or tips on building this kit should look no further than this article. |

Overall Rating | Not good at all. You really have to want it bad. |
Comments | This is a kit that should be built only if you must have a model of Slave1. I can understand why it took Mr. Matero a year to make that beauty. I have never used a much super glue and putty as I have on that kit. I'm only a quarter way though the kit and I have one hell of a way to go. It should be noted that if your Building Slave 1 as seen in Ep.2, there are many differences as the ESB version, aside from color scheme. Some of the panels are different and most notably the are two depressions on the wing sponsons near the cockpit that are not on the later version. And are incredably difficult to model. So all and all even unmodified staight from the box, this kit would be a difficult build. |

Comments | I'm very grateful for Mr. Matero's review. I'm working on the 'Slave 1' right now, using the 'Attack of the Clones' cross-section book to backdate it to the 'Jango Fett' version (I like the color scheme, and it has to be easier than the 'Empire Strikes Back' version). So far, I've rebuilt the interior (using a variety of bits-box leftovers; Gillette disposable-razor snap-on safety covers provided raw material for the seats!), and am now in the process of wrestling with the awful fit of the hull sections (I've already reinforced most of the joints with styrene scrap, and will probably end up cuting off the locating pins on the 'skirts' and mounting the backplate with Evergreen styrene bar 'strutting'). Thanks to the review, I can now corect the error I hadn't noticed on the two thrusters (I've already cut out the 'oval' or 'letterslot' on the backplate, and installed a clear plate for the hyperdrive shunt emitter). All in all, it's an interesting model, but I'm glad I only have to do it once. Thanks again. |
