Your Two Cents: Enterprise-A

The following are reader's opinions of the Enterprise-A made by Starcrafts.

Overall Rating       Good kit, but with some problems.
Comments I awaited the delivery of my Starcrafts Enterprise A model with baded breath, and as soon as it was delivered, rushed to the kitchen table and open up the box to examine the model. I was amazed at the level of detail that was crammed into such as small model, but at the same time, I was disappointed at the casting quality of some of the parts. The vents on the inside of both the warp pylons had bubbles, which will take detailed puttying and rescribing to make accurate. Most of the phaser bumps on the saucer section had also chipped off, leaving small pinholes where the phaser turrets should have been. No bigge here, as I have JT Graphics Constitution Class refit decals ( Jeff is the best in the business by far!), so I will shave off the remaining bumps, putty, sand and decale the phaser markers from the decal set. Tiny pins will then make up the new phaser turrets. Perhaps the mold my model was cast from was nearing the end of it's useful life.

Otherwise, this kit is a nice addition to anyone's 1400th scale fleet. It would be nice if Starcrafts would pay a tad more attention to casting, so others building this kit may not have had the problems I had.
