Comments Warp's Earthforce Omega Destroyer is the only kit available of this particular Babylon 5 subject. The kit I purchased was cast in a slightly brittle resin that was very slick on the surface, probably a result of massive amounts of mold release.

The main pieces were fairly well cast and detailed, with few pinholes but several warps. Hot water or a heat gun corrected the majority of such warps, and a full coating of Mr. Surfacer smoothed out most surface imperfections.

The two biggest problems I had were aligning the 4 piece fuselage "boxes" forward and aft of the central faris wheel, and the resin voids in some of the thinner "ribbing" details along the ship's port and starbard sides.

Some pieces are provided in multiples, above and beyond the required number for the kit. This is a good thing as many of the gun turrets and detail pieces were of sub-par quality. On the other hand, the photo-etched and white metal pieces were all excellent. Decals are also good.

Parts breakdown and assembly is sensible and straight-forward, though the assembly instructions are a bit vague in places.

The final kit builds up to a fairly accurate replica of the Omega-- obvously due to the small scale, many details could not be adequately molded, but for what it is, I'd say Warp's kit is a good one, particularly when taking into account that it's the only one available on the market.
